"Another genius has abandoned the planet. Not enough is said about sway and the ability of #NeilPeart. That he was unparalleled, blasting doors that are open into the realms of fresh percussive stratospheres. As a lyricist that he was similar to the Ray Bradbury of stone, penning rhymes that evoke imagery tactile and cerebral. He was a pensive intellect whom I admired and looked around. I laughed together, was quite fortunate to have played with him rode together at excessive speeds in one of the vehicles. I m still trying to fathom how he is going to be missed. " – Les Claypool Photo taken May 4, 1992, post-show at Rotterdam, NL. The date of the European summit of the Roll The Bones tour. I'd handed Neal my fly fishing bandana after one of our backstage jams.

Neil of course affected me in my drumming years… Like many young drummers at the time I would purchase Rush records and attempt to figure out what he was playing… I would look at all of the magazine stories and ads and marvel along his incredible kits… BUT… I believe I was even more influenced by him more recently…Not by his drumming itself, although by his work ethic, and his ongoing push to always be the best that he might be. I never had the honor of fulfilling Neil… But I really did get the privilege of seeing this kit as they were planning it at DW and Drum Channel. I was impressed that he would consistently come in by himself and seeking to get a month or so until they would even begin excursion rehearsals… He was attentive to detail in is drumming, his kit, his lyrics and his craft. He’therefore made an impact on me for years but recently he’therefore made me want to continue to attempt and improve at everything I do each step along the way, to keep studying and to continually be at my finest. Neil, you were an immeasurable influence on all of us for such a long time, and you will continue to be. All I can say is Thank You. You’ll Be missed immensely…

On the passing of Neil Peart, please allow me to add my voice to the chorus in this unbelievable singer and musician. His influence upon the Smashing Pumpkins is indelible: providing us wings to soar and a road map to discover our own way. There isn't a rock drummer living who t discovered him, and spoken his title which 's reserved for the few. And as a lyricist, Mr. Peart is without compare. I am forever in his debt, and humbled to say that though I never met , I feel I knew him as a friend. That brings to mind his great line, 'I can't pretend that a stranger is a long-awaited friend…' May God embrace you, Neil, as His own RIP -William

Inductee Neil Peart's carefully-crafted, accuracy drumming and virtuosic solos compelled fans to air-drum along to his impeccable fills during his iconic live performances, while his deep lyrics explored everything from individualism into mythology-steeped fantasies. A drummer’s drummer, Peart’s gifts to #Rush catapulted the ring and prog rock itself.

🥁❤️🥁 Few drummers moved so many musicians and non-musicians alike. I certainly had a nice long Peart stage, and while people frequently talk about his extravagant kit or chops, it was his orchestral believing, musicality, gentle thoughtful speech, and deep love and enthusiasm for drummers and drumming that inspired me the most as a teenager and in my life as an adult drummer. Thanks for the inspiration and for helping to start me on this course. Rest easy, Neil. ❤️🥁❤️
