We’re moving farther in the autumn season with some warming expressions that are great for holiday entertaining.
October saw no shortage of fantastic new soul releases, if you’re in the mood for a nice scotch or limited-edition gin with a cult following. These bottlings are worth a try that month.
Papa’s Pilar Marquesas Blend Dark Rum ($46 for 750mL)
Whether you’re a rum enthusiast or brand new to the category, the latest expression from Papa’s Pilar is a way that autumn, to sip on that the soul. Marquesas Blend Dark Rum is a blend of seven hand-selected rums that were sourced in the Caribbean, United States and Central America and aged around 24 years. The mix of these outstanding rums was then finished in char #4 Kentucky straight bourbon barrels to give it a rich brown sugar and ginger flavor that sips by itself.

Glen Moray 21 Year Old Portwood Finish ($180 for 750mL)
A brand new addition to the Glen Moray Heritage set, the distillery’s 21 Year Old Portwood Finish is among the most bizarre scotches individuals ’ve attempted this season. The soul was aging in casks for 19 years, but Glen Moray Master Distiller Graham Coull made a decision to grow the soul for two years in experienced Tawny Port casks. The end result is a soul with abundant vanilla and spice notes on the nose that ends with a spicy taste that is gently that & rsquo; s bursting with fruits, licorice and wine in the palate.

Chivas Regal 13 Manchester United Special Edition ($39 for 750mL)
Fans of football and scotch will adore the latest release in Chivas Regal. The newest only debuted its 13 Manchester United Special Edition whisky, which can be created with the team’s trademark colours as a toast into former coach Sir Alex Ferguson. It’s completed American rye casks and is the Chivas scotch to be obsolete for 13 years. This whisky is soft and smooth with notes of orange and a light cinnamon spice.

Haus Bitter Clove ($35 for 750mL)
Haus launched earlier this season after seeing a demand for more spirits. Their first expression, Citrus Flower, had been a victory, so they launched Haus Bitter Clove this season, just in time for the warmer weather. Bitter Clove has been made with the whiskey along with amaro lover in mind. The foundation is distilled from Chardonnay grapes and botanicals like cloves, star anise, Saigon cinnamon and ginger. It’s a light, warming drink that could be enjoyed on the rocks or at a Spritz.

Starward Two-Fold Double Grain Whisky ($31 for 750mL)
Starward Two-Fold Double Grain Whisky surfaced at the United States before this autumn, and we can’t get enough of the yummy Australian soul. The mashbill is made up of 40 percent malt and 60 percent wheat, and every grain is distilled and matured separately in Australian red wine barrels. The end result is a burnt amber liquid with aromas of vanilla and red fruit that has a balanced fruit-forward taste with a dry tannic finish. Try it fantastic or mixed to a Manhattan.

Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series 2019 Release ($60 for 750mL)
We always get excited when Maker’s Mark comes out with a new release, so we’re ecstatic to pop open this jar. Even the 2019 Limited Release in the Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series was made using an advanced wood-finishing technique to highlight the fruit and spice notes of their traditional Kentucky bourbon. This bottling is obsolete around seven years and finished for 2 weeks in cold condition barrels with a virgin American walnut stave called RC6. The end result is a bolder version of the Maker’s Mark you know and love with a balanced complete.

Monkey 47 Distiller’s Cut ($80 for 375mL)
Monkey 47 makes some of the greatest gin on the market, and now the cult-favorite Distiller’s Cut expression is available at the United States for the first time. Each year,” Monkey 47 embarks on a quest to discover a 48th botanical to attribute in its own special Distiller’s Cut release. The 2019 botanical is Myristicae arillus, that’s the seed covering of nutmeg which ’s called Nutmeg Mace. This elegant expression is complex and bold having warming finish and a slightly bitter taste. Consider mixing it into a traditional Martini garnished with a spin.
