Nikola Jokic on Sunday made his fourth-straight NBA All-Star Game appearance, becoming the first Nuggets player to do so since Alex English played in eight consecutive in the 1980s.

Denver has sent at least two players to the game on 10 different occasions and three players once — in 1977 with Dan Issel, Bobby Jones and David Thompson.

Here’s a look at the Nuggets players who have participated in the most number of NBA All-Star Games, ranked by number of appearances:

1. Alex English — 8 (1982-89)

Denver’s all-time leading scorer was selected to the annual exhibition eight straight years, being named a starter for four of them (1983-84, ’88-89). He averaged 9.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists over that span. He scored a personal-best 16 points on two separate occasions (1986 and ’89).

2T. Carmelo Anthony — 4 (2007-08, ’10-11)

The high-scoring forward was named to four All-Star Games (three as a starter) during his tenure in Denver. He averaged 18.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists in his appearances. His best game was in 2010 when he dropped 27 points and grabbed 10 boards against the Eastern Conference. Had the West won (they lost, 141-139, at Cowboy Stadium in Arlington, Texas), Anthony would have been a favorite for the game’s MVP.

2T. Nikola Jokic — 4 (2019-22)

Jokic is making his fourth straight appearance to the All-Star Game in 2022 and second straight as a starter. The 7-foot center has been fairly quiet in his first three games, averaging 5.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists.

The master of the finger wag made three appearances during his time in Denver, including one in his rookie season. He averaged 6.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks during those games. His best performance was in 1995 when he scored 12 points, grabbed eight rebounds and blocked four shots.

4T. David Thompson — 3 (1977-79)

The Skywalker was an all-star starter in each of his three NBA All-Star Game appearances. He averaged 21.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists during those games. He became the first (and so far only) Nuggets player to win MVP after a 25-point performance on 64.7% shooting in the 1979 game.

6T. Chauncey Billups — 2 (2009-10)

The King of Park Hill was already a three-time all-star for Detroit before being traded for his second stint in Denver. In two games (both as a reserve), he averaged 11.0 points and 4.0 assists for the Western Conference.

6T. Allen Iverson — 2 (2007-08)

Iverson was selected to the ASG twice (once as a starter) during his time with the Nuggets. He played in just one of them (2008) and scored seven points and added six assists.

6T. Bobby Jones — 2 (1977-78)

Denver’s defensive specialist made two appearances in the exhibition game, averaging 2.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists.

6T. Fat Lever — 2 (1988, ’90)

The Nuggets point guard made two all-star appearances (one as a starter in 1988), averaging 16.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists.

6T. Kiki Vandeweghe — 2 (1983-84)

Other Nuggets who made one all-star appearance: Dan Issel (1977), Antonio McDyess (2001), George McGinnis (1979) and Calvin Natt (1985).
