UFO and also Cryptid Encounters Active in Pennsylvania During 2020 Despite the COVID-19 Scare

I’ve discussed in my previous writings that 2018 was very active in Pennsylvania with reports of UFO sightings and encounters with Bigfoot, many cryptids along with other strange monsters and strange happenings.
The 2019 year continued to be busy with some in depth reports concerning UFO and cryptid events. Reports of these strange encounters continued to be reported throughout 2020, even though many individuals had the COVID-19 situation on their minds.
The year 2020 signified my 61 decades of study exploring UFOs, Bigfoot and other mystical events that were reported from Pennsylvania. I’ve been taking sighting reports from the public since 1969, along with the calls continue to come in through each year along with many email accounts. It still surprises many people whom I have never seen a UFO or even a Bigfoot throughout my many travels through the woodlands and forests of the Keystone state. Although my focus is based on cases reported from Pennsylvania, I receive odd sighting reports from neighboring countries and from across the country.
During 2020, several UFO sightings were apparently misidentifications of man-made or natural objects like the bright planets Venus and Jupiter, glowing meteors, aircraft towing advertising signs, skies lanterns and Starlink satellite observations. There were even some intriguing weather-related reports for example sightings of ice pillars.
Sightings of UFOs of various shapes like spheres, triangles, rectangles, and elongated cigar shaped had been reported throughout the year. Encounters with smaller chunks of light seen at close range were also detected. I’ve referred to those more compact objects for many years since mini-UFOs. I talked with secondhand and first witnesses concerning Bigfoot and other cryptid encounters. There were also reports of puzzle booms from several locations.
Listed here are a few of the intriguing examples that came to my attention through 2020.
*January 15-A motorist looking toward Latrobe detected a huge object from the sky that looks like two big aircraft side by side. About precisely the identical period, there was a report of a loud boom that shook the region around Latrobe.
*January 23-At 7:35 AM, a guy travel northbound on Route 79 near the Lone Pine depart in Washington County detected a gray triangular object moving east to west beneath the cloud layer. There was one very bright light that appeared to be at the front of the thing and looked like a huge bright blue-white LED. The watch could make out the shape of this object and explained it as triangular and thick and enjoy the design of a stealth bomber. There were no telltale lights onto this object. The driver slowed down to get a better look at this object, but it suddenly just vanished from sight and wasn’t seen again.
*January-Armstrong County-A resident reported strange spheres of light close to her house. For many years many area residents have been reporting UFO and Bigfoot action in this region.
*February-Dan Hageman of this BORU research team received many sighting reports of all cylindrical and egg-shaped objects around Butler County. One report involved a cylinder-shaped object going at a quick rate that came to a sudden halt in a split second. A sphere then emitted from the cylinder and the two objects moved off in different directions.
*February 28- Two witnesses seeing the moon around Blairsville reported observing a world of light surrounded by four smaller lighting. They saw the thing for a few minutes. They turned away from the item for a brief while and when they appeared back the object and lights were all gone. They assessed an app to determine whether any aircraft had been flying in the region and none have been indicated at that moment.
*March 8Hikers on a trail around Rector reported hearing a very strange loud sound that they weren’t able to clarify. They got near the area where it seemed to originate from but found no source. The noise appeared to accompany them for a space then suddenly just stopped.
*March 8- A resident of the Laurel Highlands noted that a small gray sphere about two feet in diameter drifting around in the house. (I have researched many episodes between “mini-UFOs” since the 1960s.)
*March 24- A brief trail of small footprints were seen from the wet floor in Derry Township in the neighborhood of the Chestnut Ridge. The tracks have been 8-10 inches long and about 3-4 inches wide. Among those tracks had a very clear impression of just three feet. Both right and left tracks were detected. (Over time larger five and three toed footprints have been found near this region as well as elsewhere. There have been similar smaller footprints also found around the ridge region and surrounding places in previous decades.)
A part of this Chestnut Ridge near Derry, PA.. Lots of Bigfoot and other cryptid encounters have been reported all along the ridge.
*March 27- This happened in a rural region of the Laurel Highlands. During the day, a guy had entered a garage construction by means of a door that was left open. Suddenly a huge creature approached from the rear of the building and past the guy from 10 ft away. The opinion was convinced that what he saw could simply be called a black panther. The body of this enormous feline was roughly 3-3 ½ ft long and the witness estimated that the weight at roughly 50-80 pounds. The jet-black animal hurried out the door and in the nearby woods. The opinion could hear the loud noise of its head hitting the floor like galloping as it raced past him.
*March- Spheres of light have been showing up on security cameras in fields on a home in Fayette County at which for many years many mysterious events have been detected by different witnesses. There have been reports of strange cries and howls, odd footprints, Bigfoot sightings and other paranormal experiences reported. Other strange action has also been reported with other inhabitants at the exact same general place.
*April- During this month, the data was acquired from several sources concerning a variety of phenomena that was reported. Bigfoot researcher Eric Altman received reports of odd vocalizations heard about the Derry side of the Chestnut Ridge. Triangular shaped objects and lights in triangular formations were allegedly seen in Cambria and Indiana counties. A puzzle boom was felt by a lot of people in Westmoreland County. Other reports of loud booms have been reported from several places earlier in this year.
*May 16- A group of people near Williamsport, saw two objects at the northeast increase from the floor about 30 seconds apart and from two unique locations. The first thing was to the size of a dime from the skies and introduced a bright orange glow and quiet. The shine suddenly went out along with a jet-black shape that looked rather like a stealth bomber moved across the sky toward the east. The second thing also moved across the heavens and was lost from sight in the space.
*May 27- a watch was outdoors and getting some fresh air. The incident happened a few miles from Donegal. The watch was seeing some deer in a field across the road. It was dark, but there was a lighting around the field. The deer had been suddenly frightened by something and they hurried from the region. It was minutes after which the watch saw a tall dark literary figure that appeared to be more than 6 ft tall.
The figure was quite dark and the arms had been bent and didn’t swing it proceeded. The motion of this figure was unusual since it didn’t seem to be running but rather gliding across the field. It moved extremely rapidly crossing around 75 metres in about 10 seconds. Whatever it was moved out of sight and wasn’t seen again. The opinion didn’t know exactly what was seen but was sure that it wasn’t human.
*May 27- Three witnesses travel during daytime on a bumpy road in a rural region of Cambria county detect something big lying about 120 feet before them. They were very surprised to see it was a black panther that climbed from the floor, looked directly at them, then ran up a hill by a high-tension ability lineup. The creature was called jet black in colour, with a body 4-5 ft long and at least a 3 ft long tail.
*June 10- It was sunny and hot during the morning when a guy riding nearby Derry at Westmoreland county saw a huge black creature in a field he was certain was a black panther. When he first saw it, the creature was roughly 80-100 yards off. The body looked to be about 4 ft long. The tail was about 3 feet long and all black.
The witness saw the creature for a brief while then chose to push down the road a brief distance to get a buddy to return to the field with him so he could confirm what he was seeing. When they returned to the place of the sighting that the enormous feline was still there at the field at a space. They stopped the car and conducted through the field. The one man had his camera and was preparing to have an image. The creature never looked at them but took off across the tree line and proceeded off before the guy could get his picture.
*June- From out of Pittsburgh, loud whoops were heard emanating from a heavily wooded place. Massive trees have allegedly been falling in that same area as well. This is the general area where others have reported odd noises and Bigfoot sightings have been reported in the past few decades. During June at Fayette county where Bigfoot sightings have been reported for many decades, sounds of breaking branches, high pitched whistling and loud whoops have been heard.
*June 25- A resident was shooting photos of a gorgeous sunset not away from Murrysville. The witness watched from the distance what appeared to be a jet liner that just suddenly appeared. The guy ran to get his camera thinking it would make a nice picture. As he chose to see that he realized that the form of the jet looked odd. He immediately understood there have been two different dark objects that were flying quite close together but not at precisely the identical elevation. The thing in front seemed to be slightly higher than the second one.
The objects appeared like two cylinders that were just similar to a fuselage with no strings. They were black, cancel, and silent. The second thing had what appeared to be a vertical tail segment. There were no telltale lights on either object. The objects were only seen for seconds since they entered the suggestion of a slim cloud.
The photographer grabbed his 35mm camera to prepare to take an image of these objects when they exited the cloud. The guy stood there for 20 minutes, but the objects were never seen again, along with the cloud faded off. A search of a flight App found no sign of any aircraft spanning the region at the time of this sighting.

*July 11- Irwin-A guy taking his dog for a leisurely walk that day was interrupted by the noise of many dogs barking loud and running down the road. That scenario concerned the guy, so that he took his dog inside, grabbed a flashlight and went back outside to look around. He looked toward the northwest and detected that a large circular glowing red object that was rising from the floor about a mile off. As he watched, the thing moved east then turned southeast and proceeded into his direction.
The thing moved steadily while maintaining the same elevation and approached as near as 5-6 homes away and was just about 200 feet off the floor. The item was totally silent. The guy didn’t have his cell phone with him to take an image. The witness said the object appeared to be about 20-30 feet in diameter and about the size of a small residence. There was a bright reddish glow emitting from this object.
While the thing needed a definitive form, it appeared to be more semi-transparent. One part of the item seemed to become darker in colour than the other areas, and what looked like circuit board lines were moving through several segments of this object. The thing was going to pass over the guy when he was distracted by the noise of more dogs coming and barking loudly. The guy turned off and when he looked back, the thing was overhead but had risen to about 1,000 ft high. The thing moved off toward the east but was blocked by trees moved farther in the space.

*June-July- Reports of strange incidents were received from several sources. I received secondhand accounts of Bigfoot encounters. Near Monessen, a resident reported seeing a huge black bird flapping its wings very gradually over the lake. There have been many Thunderbird sightings in this region in previous decades. UFO sightings were reported from several locations across the state. Unusual footprints have been reported close to Mount Pleasant.
*August- A hiker walking through the woods in Jefferson county through the day saw something that baffled him. Approximately 100-200 ft at the distance, he observed that a very tall figure standing between two trees. The area was quite dense and not near public access. Since he continued to watch, he understood what he was seeing wasn’t a human, deer, or a black bear. The creature moved slightly then took off running down a hillside to the abandoned and didn’t come close to the watch.
The opinion said that the monster ran quicker than any person could possibly run. Even stranger, so he didn’t hear any noise as it proceeded through the leaves and stones. The creature looked to be about 8-10 feet tall, along with the general form of this figure was distinct. The legs and arms were narrow, and the arms appeared to be bent at about a 20-degree angle and then held out directly. The arms didn’t swing as it proceeded. The opinion also mentioned that the entire time he saw that the creature it looked like it was out of focus. This accounts has some resemblance to the incident reported near Donegal on May 27th.
*August 30- A guy and his wife had been taking a day scenic drive and so were near the Pennsylvania/ Maryland border. This is in the vicinity where Fayette and Somerset counties in Pennsylvania associate with Maryland. The husband was driving and was shocked if his wife suddenly said that she thought she’d seen a Bigfoot many miles back since they had been driving.
He asked her why she didn’t say anything else when she saw it. She indicated that she was so shocked by what she saw that she could not speak. The woman told me during our interview that she was looking at the passenger window when she saw a tall and slender hair covered creature walking around a power line. It was only about 40 feet off and she watched as it took two steps and proceeded in the woods.
The creature looked at the vehicle. She said the creature was 6-7 ft tall and tall. The mind was somewhat oval shaped. The side of this face appeared somewhat ape-like in look. The body was covered in dark brown hair. It walked upright and had long arms that hung down to the kneecaps. Her husband turned the car around and went back to the region of the sighting, but the creature wasn’t there. His wife told me she’s certain of what she saw and said, “Now I believe it. ”
*September- Residents at Armstrong county reported loud screams and howls coming from the woods through the early morning . The puppies in the region appeared very upset at the moment. On the Derry side of the Chestnut ridge, loud and lengthy whoops were heard and a tree was allegedly seen shaking. A tall creature was spotted moving in the space by means of a string of bushes in Fayette county.
*October- Lon Strickler from the amazing Phantoms & Monsters site received a report from a guy who allegedly had a Bigfoot encounter during the first week of October 2020, at Bald Eagle State Park. The monster was described as standing a minimum of 8 feet tall and covered in dark brown hair. *October 7- Monroeville- On the evening of October 7, 2020, a note was on her rear deck when she detected some motion from the corner of her left eye at the sky. Since the watch continued to watch she realized she was seeing a huge oversized bird that was totally gray in colour. She said that the best way to describe how big this creature was comparing it to a hawk but roughly five times this size. The woman estimated that the wingspan was about 14-15 feet from tip to tip. She was unable to decide whether the body was covered with feathers. The flying creature was about 40 feet on the top of a few trees around 15-20 feet away from the house.
*November 10- Natrona Heights- During the day, a witness reported seeing a cylinder-shaped thing that appeared to be solid with a small dome at the top. The thing was white in colour, and no windows or lights were detected. The thing moved back toward the northwest.
*November 26- (Maryland) It was through the nice bright morning of Thanksgiving Day a motorist saw something very unusual. This opinion was traveling west not far from Princess Anne, Maryland when the incident happened. The driver noticed what seemed to be an oversized bird roughly 50-70 yards off standing in the center of the road on the other hand. The driver of this car pulled off the road and got out of the automobile to have a much better look.
The creature did not seem to understand that it had been detected and did not appear toward the opinion. The giant bird was projected to stand at least 4 ft tall. The entire creature, in addition to the feathers, appeared to be brownish gray in colour. The winged creature seemed to remain in place and didn’t move around much. The characteristic that stood out to the watch was that the huge wingspan. The wings have been spread out along with the observer estimated they took up roughly 80% of the width of the road. The road width was estimated to be between 16-20 ft. It could not be ascertained exactly what the creature was doing since the witness was seeing the creature from its rear side.
The watch was so startled from the occurrence the notion of shooting an image never happened. While the creature was still there, two men in a large utility truck approached the region. They also ceased and were looking at the giant bird. They were still there when the first watch left the region and proceeded down the road. The opinion is a very experienced hunter and is very knowledgeable about the birds of Maryland. This creature appeared to be quite unusual and seemed to fit in the category of a Thunderbird.
*December 11- Pittsburgh area-A guy has been walking his dog after he looked up and noticed what looked like a bright meteor in the sky that seemed to be moving in his path. Seconds later, he observed a triangular shaped object that appeared like a larger stealth fighter. The watch could see , nevertheless, and it proceeded faster than a jet, but it was quiet. In one or two seconds, it just seemed to evaporate. The opinion was very shaken by what he saw. He gave him the impression it was cloaking.
