The Zone Improvement Plan, otherwise called the ZIP code, which is now the community of postal codes the U.S. Postal Service created in the early 1960s.  NPR recently examined these five-digit codes were produced in attempts to improve the speed and precision of email. Ever since that time, where we live, work, and play is characterized by your own ZIP codehere’s more about what your ZIP code really means. Out of almost 40,000 ZIP codes in the United States, these 15 are notable.

99501: Anchorage, Alaska
